RAM Dual Disc Metallic Clutch & Flywheel Kit, for 89~92 ZR-1 Corvette.

RAM Force 9.5 dual disc conversion systems for C4 Corvette eliminate the stock, pull style clutch components and dual mass flywheel. The RAM system consists of aluminum flywheel, hi-clamp pressure plate with 2800 pounds clamp load, two 900 series metallic clutch discs, an internal hydraulic release bearing and the necessary fittings to adapt to the factory master cylinder. Total rotating mass, flywheel, discs, floater  & pressure plate weighs 36 lbs, compared to the OE Dual Mass flywheel & clutch at 59 lbs.  

 NOTE: All RAM Clutch ZR-1 LT5 kits are fine tuned in-house by Jerrys Gaskets, before being shipped to the customer.  This means there are no installation measurements required, no shim pack calculations & no length adjustments to the Hydraulic Release Bearing stud.  Hydraulic line routing with the proper fittings and HRB orientation, is simple.  This Jerrys Gaskets exclusive feature will save the installer not only significant time, it eliminates measurement errors.  Our custom instructions with photos, makes installation simpler and results in higher consumer confidence.

RAM "Force 9.5 Metallic" Dual Disc conversion eliminates the pull style clutch and dual mass flywheel.

Launched in 2010, Ram’s Force 9.5 dual-disc units are not new. What is new, however, is by combining it with their 900 series friction disc, the clutch assembly capacity is increased from handling around 700hp (300series disc) to around 950hp.

Using a metallic-sintered iron-based material that is compressed under high heat to bond it to the backing plate, the 900 series disc has a higher coefficient of friction than the standard organic materials. Thus it combats heat better and offers increased holding power.

Also relevant is its light weight and that it operates with a six-spring hub instead of eight.  The Force 9.5 is small and remarkably light, weighing approximately 36lbs compared with, for example, the standard LS arrangement, which weighs around 57lbs and measures 11.750in. This combination of compact size and light weight hastens engine response. The effects of faster acceleration and deceleration are unmistakable.
